I have been suffering from shoulder pain for the last couple of years - it came on gradually but is now a feature of any ride over 40 miles
It is only ever in my left shoulder (I'm right handed) and as it gets worse radiates down my arm
I have heard several cyclist complain of exactly the same type of pain but never discovered what causes it - I'd like to sort mine now as it's seriously spoiling my cycling enjoyment

Shoulders are blooming complicated ! I'd set in motion through your GP advice from specialists.

Mine are a nuisance at times but I have chosen my shoulder guy who is in Manchester should the need arise. Hopefully not for a few years

As above, go visit your GP.
I've had a shoulder issue for a couple of years and had it injected 4 times now.
I'm waiting on physio then a Consultant appointment.

I did mention it to a GP and they tested me for arthritis which was negative - as soon as I said it was only a problem when cycling 'long' distance they lost interest!

It's a different gp appointment for you then, I've asked for second opinions in the past when I've not been happy.

I had a pain in my right shoulder about two years ago, so I carried on weight training as if nothing had happened until one day it gave up and I went to a musculo/skeletal specialist to get it diagnosed as an impingement, it took six months of no weight training to clear up fully.

Now I've got one in my left shoulder which I've been a bit more sensible with, it's hopefully gone after three months of rest now.

Edit: can you not find a different GP?

I'm lucky that mine always seems happy that your injury is a result of sport/exercise.
