Filtering too fast on the right of a traffic queue on an A-road, I could've easily avoided this one by going slower. There was a police diversion so the traffic was backed up (although not far- I could see the end of the queue at a right turn ahead where traffic was following the diversion)

Up ahead I saw this 4x4 pull right across to the left. I thought- christ, I don't need that much room to get past, I'm doing alright. He wasn't, he was just pulling in to get the turning circle for a quick, and un-indicated, U-ey out of the queue.

WhoaWhoaWhoa! Whack!

Got the "I didn't see you" thing. Didn't hang around long, I was wound up. Bike perfectly OK. I'm mostly OK, cut shoulder, knee hurts. Didn't notice either 'till I got home of course. I feel like a fool because I generally filter pretty cautiously, today wasn't one of my cautious days.

ouch, at least damage is minimal, could have been much worse.
