I considered doing half that ride and getting the train back

I thought that's what you might have been thinking.

Shame you can't make the timings work.

When I got the train back from Brough by the time I'd waited for an hour or so it would have been nearly as fast to ride.

Looks a nice spec Brommie, by the way.

It is, although strictly speaking from the centre of York you ride beside the racecourse, cross the main straight, then do a little loop on part of the Knavesmire before starting the solar system part of the cycle route.

Give my regards to John, despite living 160 miles away we consider that our local, maybe see you later in the year. We have been known to eat in there 10 nights on the run whilst staying down the road at Buckley farm.

The solar bit starts under a main road, if I recall correctly.

Last time I was there some of the planets had been vandalised and there was the type of 'tag' graffiti no one would call street art.

Sunday, on a stone carving course, with the pleasure of working on an open veranda, in the shade. And back home....

Where is this pub? x

It’s a pub called the Old George in a small village, near Upham, in Hampshire. It used to be a coach house in the ‘proper old days’ on the main stagecoach route from London to Weymouth. They’ve still got the stables ( but they’re part of the pub now).
