....well it is supppsed to be summer.

I’ve always been a charcoal and lumpwood kind of guy. However, chez @Hill Wimp the smoke does tend to blow around to other houses and gardens. At the motorhome show we chanced upon the ‘Cobb’. Oven, an eco bbq/oven designed originally for use in Africa using corn cobb husks as fuel. One benefit is that it’s pretty much smoke free. It’s small light and portable so perfect for motorhomes/camping etc.

Just getting to grips with it now. Should say we have a small gas jobbie coming as well...

Anyhow, here she is!

After having a few good bbqs rust to death I bought a stainless steel one from Gemany.

Works a treat (lumpwood).

The smoke is a part and parcel of it ;).

Veg nicely cooked as well but forgot photo in my excitement!

It’s a cool thing, you get lots of lovely cooking smells but without clouds of smoke. Which where we are is fab!

Looks lovely, I could just eat that now!.

I'm mulling over an electric hotplate to keep in the caravan for cooking in the awning but your cobb oven looks ideal as well!.

Where did you get it from?.

I got it from:

We’ve also ordered Cadac Safari 2 pro as a gas option as well.

But, the Cobb would work fine in an awning if well ventilated.

We have one of these, coupled with a Hi Gear single burner. Basic, but it does us.

Not seen one of those, but I have a High Gear single burner somewhere...

We have 2. A big gas one for when I’m cooking for more than 2 people

When it’s just me and the wife I fire up the small charcoal one. It’s handy to fire up for a couple of steaks or a spatchcock chicken

We take it on holiday as well. I fire it up first thing in the morning for bbq’d dog rolls
