Show us yer pub bike

Everyone should have a hack or pub bike. Something old and cheap that can be left chained to railings without piquing the interest of the light-fingered community.

Until very recently I'd been bombing about on a 10 year old Ridgeback hardtail which had been living in my mate's yard in all weathers for a couple of years. Sadly, the headset died a couple of months ago, so I'm in the market for something new.

that was when the bike was in good nick, but that winter, and the fact I now have a "racer" this one has been neglected and is now my work/local shop bike

This is my pub bike, though it's now lost the mudguards and been painted black. It's a 1970's Raleigh with a 20 inch frame. I look like Coco the Clown when I ride it but I can easily fit it in the back of my Nissan Micra (if I take the front wheel off). I can leave my car at the pub then cycle there to collect it the next morning. I suppose that would mean I actually have a pub car ...

Thanks for that; I get a hard enough time on here from some of them .
