Thought my county flag was claret with the rose in the middle. Think I prefer this one

I'm actually a Yorkshireman from the West Riding, so similar to yourself, though my part of the West Riding was put in South Yorkshire, which had this flag: -

Currently I live in Cumberland, who's flag looks like this

For Cumbria there is anther flag: -

I've not seen that one in the wild though.
Never seen the last one either,looks like the product of some fevered mind employed by the County Council and we seem to have quite a few to choose from!

Without looking it up, can anyone identify this flag ?
A couple of clues;
It's not a English county
They are not competing in the Commonwealth games

Falkland Islands?

Nope, (surely the Falkland islands would have a sheep or a penguin on it somewhere)

I have just googled Hampshire flag (having lived here for about 40 of my 54 years) and I would say I have never seen it flying anywhere. Hampshire council flies its own flag which is oddly not the county flag.

Thinking about it, Hampshire is a very odd county with really no clear identity.

Firstly I was in the bottom left bit near Fordingbridge, really rural surrounded by Dorset and Wiltshire and the New Forest. Now I am up in the north east in quite a developed but still fairly rural commuter land. The main cities are Southampton and Portmouth which are coastal and not at all like the rest of the county, Over in the south east it changes again with the start of the Sussex downs.
I don't think people here think of themselves as having a county identity as perhaps Yorkshire or Cornwall do. Perhaps we are missing out. Perhaps they could chop it in to three bits to each have its own identity and better character. Problem is there would be a fight over which part got stuck with Basingstoke.
