Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
That looks nifty, seems a better deal for someone my size 6.3 ft than the bickerton I'm promised.

£30 and it's yours. If I have to polish off the surface rust it's an extra tenner.

Alternatively I'd have a look at the Dawes Kingpin Group and/or Modified Small Wheelers groups on FB. Top end ones are about £80-100 and can suit pretty much any height. I just don't need two of them. Or rather I'd like a non-folder and a folding variety.

Pulled both of the Dawes Kingpins out today; they've been sat unused for a while and I've got to decide what I do with one/both of them. One is built up, the other part-built and stalled. I may sell both / sell the silver one / strip the silver one and put some of the bits on the purple one.

Connected to the thread - this all works well but looks worse for wear with visible rust and flaking silver paint:

I'd nick that to just to set a fire in the rack bag and ride naked through MacDonalds Drive-Thru singing 'Meat is Murder' by the Smiths.

I'll see what comes along but dawes i didnt know they produced foldies. regarding others: I have a story about my first foldie, brand new, cant remember what model it was blue lol, in a new house, new location.
I went to work on it brilliant stuff, headed home, next up a roundabout and aggressive drivers forced me onto a downward sliproad onto a motorway! I was only new to the area etc. I realised this about 2 seconds in before i was to hit the motorway. So i banked it, only thing i could do to stay safe and had to crawl uphill on the embankment with the thing, then over barbed wire into a field of cows which looked curiously at me i remember , to get back on the normal road. So i was nearly the first foldie on the major motorway happily it was just the bike!

Fond memories safety first lmao!

When you want to ride a good bike and park it anywhere without attracting the attention of thieving scumbags you disguise it as a 'sh!tter'.

Mine came to me as a £35 knackered old mid nineties Marin Kentfield. I took the paint off and my parts bin, ebay and my local bike recycling joint supplied the upgrades. It's geared low enough to tow a trailer.

Loch side.
I'll happily steal that if you fix those scuff marks on the crank first.

Our son in Manchester bought a new Carrera ebike 3 years ago, took a can of pink spray paint to it. Done in a completely random way - tyres, saddle, frame, battery. It's yet to be stolen.

That's great but it's a dataset of 1. I've got 3 ebikes: decent brands, not to mention several non-e-bikes, and they're not resprayed and I like to keep them clean and in reasonable nick, and they've yet to be stolen too. What does that prove?

I read an article somewhere a while ago saying that bikes that looked "girly" were far less likely to be stolen and that some people had painted their bikes pink and added things like tassles to teh bar ends
and they were never stolen despite being the same type of bike as was commonly taken in that area

Plus it's a bloody mess which makes it a lot harder to sell; if that's the light-fingered gobshite's intent.
