Ouch. That's quite a climb at the end. Is that on the way to work, or on the way home?

That is on the way to work. My office is on the southern slopes of Holmbury Hill, near Dorking. From the car park you can see right across to the South
Downs.

I wonder if anyone has spotted the mistake on one of my graphs? Just noticed it a moment ago.
You swapped your X and Y.
Your chart shows elevation on the horizontal axis, distance on the vertical

Keep em coming folks. I notice no-one with a pancake commute has posted a profile yet?!:smile::biggrin:

Reckon mine is fairly pancake, hence why I have a single-speed! Of course, an auto-scaling plot makes it look quite hilly. This is for the round trip....

No, but occasionally I have to draw very deep on motivation. Getting to work's great, averaging in the mid 20s even with traffic, but home is a very different matter! Needless to say, the slightest excuse can have me reaching for the car keys.

I thought this was a good thread to resurrect

Currently I drive part of the way to work, park up in a little village and cycle the rest of the way. Here's my cycle into work:

As you can see, it's up and down at the start, then downhill at the end. Despite going over 30mph on that hill in the primary position (it's a 30mph zone in a residential area) I am still overtaken on occasion...

I take a slightly different route home, the hill I now climb is adjacent to the one I ride down. Just better to cycle up in evening rush hour (conversely, not good to cycle down in rush hour....)

As you can see, a fair bit of climbing for me

I have mapped out a potential route to take if I ever fancy doing the whole 12.5 miles. I thought "great, quite a few miles will be on an off road national cycle route". I knew parts were hilly, but according to bikehike.co.uk there's a 15% hill in there

Here is that section in more detail:

It would... erm... definitely wake you up in the morning....

Here's the important bit though, the mile of good climbing!
