Just personal preference tbh, I really do not like the aesthetics, they are ugly IMO. On top of the aesthetic element, Sidi's tendency to include lots of bulky buckles and mechanisms etc which not only look bad, are likely to be poor aerodynamically (I will have to refer to Coggan's study to confirm) even when wearing shoe covers due to the bulges from the buckles.

There are so many cleaner looking shoes out there from Specialized, Bont, Giro. Fizik etc.

I can respect you preference, but I doubt the little buckle on the side is going to slow you down and if it did, it would probably take off .50 of a second. Do you have any links to tests that could show that it effects speed? also, some of the top pros wear Sidi shoes.

The buckle will slow you down, as has been proven in multiple studies, one of which you can find here: http://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s12283-010-0037-0/fulltext.html

The differences are likely to be in the order of seconds. Which in a race is something well worth considering, given that you are going to buy shoes anyway, buying some that do not come with a built in aero penalty is essentially a free gain!

Might not concern you, or most CC users, but it would certainly be something I'd consider!
