A customer in the retro clothing shop I work in has just shown me a Longines 1960's, 9 carat gold watch she's just bought for £450 from Accrington Antiques.

IIRC that should have the same movement as mine, but that bracelet, yuck! :headshake:

It would've been originally supplied on either a brown or black lizard strap with matching gold buckle.

I like it but I already have two gold pocket watches. The other week I could've bought a JW Benson, 9 carat gold pocket watch, but didn't bother as pocket watches are ok, but showing them off is difficult.

Do you have gold alberts to go with them. When I was looking at gold pocket watch’s it was hard to find any decent chains as they all seem to have been melted down for scrap.

No, I don't have Albert chains on them. The 18 carat gold IWC pocket watch one has a 36 gram, 9 carat neck chain converted into a watch chain with a t-bar added on. The 18 carat Waltham pendent watch has a fine 9 carat chain.

Im surprised Accy bothers with this new fangled clockwork stuff. A wrist sundial or portable hourglass are more fitting for a gent of his breeding.

Upstream a little, someone asked about homage watches, and I'm definitely a fan.
I'll take value for money, but each to their own. Nothing wrong with brand loyalty, all comes down to what you can afford.

Here's my SKX homage
SKX.jpg

It has a titanium case, and NH35 movement. Came with a ceramic bezel insert, but modded it with aly one instead.
Had another, which my brother now has. That one has a stainless case, and with day/date, so closer looking to the original.
The titanium version was £70, the stainless one around £50 if I recall correctly.

Here's another, this time a clone of a Hamilton Khaki field watch
Khaki.jpg

It has a VH31 movement, so the second hand sweeps smoothly, resembling a mechanical movement. Also has drilled lugs and sapphire crystal, all for less than £30.

Some folk detest the idea of clones, be it watches or anything else, but as long as they're not badged to resemble something they're not, then can see no harm. When you live on a pension, value is the main priority :okay:
