I'd like to. I treat myself to a new one from Prendas and it's a little bit big.

As it's cotton - can I shrink it through washing? Ta.

No it wont shrink. Get your mum to sew some elastic into the back of it.

Not even a hot wash? I can find something else that needs a good clean at the same time.

Or the tumble-drier at the launderette? Don't they shrink cotton stuff?

Most cotton caps have elastic in the back. I nearly always have to remove it. If it's there you could re-stitch it tighter (needs patience). Otherwise, put a pleat in at the back. I'd be surprised if it had to be large enough to be noticeable.

If only

It rubs a little bit on the top of my ears, wearing it for long enough should wear a groove in them.

I can just about get my head in the gap but seeing what I'm doing will be awkward.

Pinhead here has managed to shrink the hat by washing it a lot.

Mickle in *wrong* shock!
