And this is for the main course. Allow two to three generously filled pancakes per person.
Basically a red kidney beans in chilli/tomato sauce mixture, but without the meat (for us - of course you can add the meat if you want to). You need to cook it fairly dry and then roll it into the pancakes. We have it often. It's a remarkably good combi, because the sharp acidic taste of the chilli sauce, and the bland taste of the pancake batter, complement each other nicely. Try it!
Oh: and all that fuss (above) about making the perfect pancake - forget it! Getting the pancake to cohere properly without tearing, and without being too greasy - once you've mastered that you're away...

I have been informed that tonight we are dispensing with the usual fare of 'Crepe' type pancakes with lemon & sugar in favour of the fluffy amreican style pancakes with vanilla ice cream and maple syrup...

Just finished ours. I'm always duty chef for pancakes. Standard lemon and sugar are order of the day, but I sometimes have Black Treacle as for a change.
As I am on a strict diet, I only had fruit as the other course.
