My mum is very good, but hopeless with handing on the recipe as she is one of those that can cook by eyesight whether it is drop scones, potato bread, wheaten bread or farls, which isn't so good for passing on the recipes.

Then there the Griddle. When is something a griddle and not a frying pan?
