To me that is luxury!! Want to swap?
I wouldn't be able to afford the council tax bill!

It took a bit of getting used to the 'Coronation Street' type of housing - opening the front door and finding a complete stranger standing on the pavement about 18 inches away and staring back into the house!

Some locals leave their doors wide open in the summer. I still find it odd to walk past and look in to see them eating their meals, cuddling on the sofa, arguing, whatever ...

The worst leaves (not sure what they are) are slightly cupped and always turn upside down so you have no chance of sweeping them up..................

cue the blue air around me

On a more serious note ... I have had a few heavy falls after slipping on wet leaves. I had a near miss the other evening when I skidded on some covering wet stone slabs. A former colleague broke a hip when he slipped and fell.

Aaaargh, no!

I feel like throwing financial caution to the wind and clearing off to Spain with my bike for 3 or 4 months ...

@speccy1 - do you have a lawn mower? Set the blades high and mow up your fallen leaves (only works on lawns afaik!). You get a nice mix of chopped leaves and grass tips which rots down into superb compost in not much more than a year.

I love leaf mould...
Yes I do, but the lawn is totally sodden at the moment - it won`t dry out because of the leaves, vicious circle, am a bit wary of using an electric mower on it:eek:

Well if the blades are high enough... Mine's a petrol mower, big old thing, perhaps it goes easier in the damp. It is a problem though!
