Riding through Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon, it was matchday so there were people everywhere, a man in a lovely Aston Martin passes me (nice and wide, I might add) then proceeds to give it a can of Heinz' best and treat the crowd to a "BRAAAAAAAAAAWP!!!"

Well it looked fun, so naturally, I decided to follow suit. Shuffled back on the saddle, got down onto the drops, and shouted "BRAAAAAAAAAAWP BRAAAAAAAAAAWP BRAAAAAAAAAAWP!!!" while not really going any faster. Or indeed, very fast at all!

I'm also known to shout random words at .....well anyone who happens to hear really and sing daft songs (They Might be Giants, anyone?) at the top of my voice (but only on downhills, cause I don't have the breath to do it anywhere else!)

Anyone else prone to bouts of silliness on the bike?

Yep!

Rode past a fully loaded Citroën Paxo pumping out tunes. I decided to cruise past no handed giving it the 'gang signs' and pulling some shapes.

They just looked at me like I was some kind of prick.
(wouldn't really disagree either)

here.........
I have to confess (having only recently got back on a bike and still enjoying the thrill of it all a little too much) that the other day I was to be seen going down a slope (I'm loathe to say hill as it's not compared to what most CC'ers have climbed.....but gong up it was very hard work for me so it was a hill as far as I'm concerned) shouting "WEEEEEEEEEEEEEE at the top of my voice with my legs sticking out either side - it was great fun - I felt about 10yrs old again

On a CC ride recently, I confess to singing out "lets go fly a kite", on seeing a small girl in a field flying a kite.

Seems sensible to me. Alone.

Lost it, got it again.
I tend to sing in my head all the time Im riding, and found myself roaring out "My Baby Is A Headf**k" by The Wildhearts whilst shooting downhill at the weekend.

Oh, and found myself "rapping" along with Public Enemy when jogging today with headphones on. Glad it was in a quiet wood with no-one around.

Pootling along to college, singing Screamager by Therapy? very loudly.
Or shouting BEEP BEEP at the top of my lungs when going over one of those single lane hump bridges over a canal near me

I can make a brilliant old clown hooter noise which is great fun to do when going under bridges. Never thought to make it going over a bridge tho!!

GTTM, I still haven't got over how much fun it can be! I may not stick my legs out, but I'm definitely prone to shouting WHEEEEE! every now and again!!

I tend to swear at myself when hammering up steep climbs. "c'mon f**ker. push it harder ya s**t." Things like that. It's fine when I'm out on some deserted mountain but I get odd looks when I'm pumpin up the high street.

I talk to myself when riding home in the dark at 3 or 4 in the morning. I appreciate the company ...

I often find myself singing Barry Manilow out loud on long rides when the glycogen is low - usually a medley, always featuring Copacabana. "Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl...."

Lol. If THAT song creeps into my head tonight on the way home I'm gonna be swearing at YOU.

I do the singing thing too... not too loud, but audible if you are nearby... been 'caught out' a few times by cyclists sneaking up on me from behind... at least it's not as bad as when my kids were younger, when I'd find myself whistling Postman Pat as I walked along the street....

Excellent taste in music, chaps. I often find myself singing random Terrorvision and Paradise Lost as I pootle along.
