Plenty of lapwings on the higher pastures, Oystercatchers too. No Curlews which is a bit of a surprise as they tend to be at similar altitudes to the lapwings.

No Golden Plover yet but they tend to only be up around 1500ft whereas the Lapwings are around 700-1200ft so maybe that's why

Dawn chorus is ramping up, the daffs are up everywhere, blossom appearing on the trees and leaves appearing on deciduous bushes. All geared up for a nice heavy frost

The bloke who works in the local cemetery has started to cut the grass again.

Give it another few weeks and we'll be able to see the pigeon wagon pass by on a Friday night, around 7.35 pm. They let them fly off from my local pub.

It was the first time I didn't put the heater on at work, so it must be getting warmer. And I had to take my gloves off on the way home.

Heard my first tweet of the dawn chorus this morning, not an electronic tweet or a Radio4 Tweet of the Day, but a real live bird staking out it's claim to fornicate in my back garden.
How can you say so categorically it wants to "fornicate". It may well be married to its tweeting partner. I think you should retract that and issue a public apology..........immediately.

And as for non visual clues, spring was made official for me today as I got my first mouthful of insects of the season, cycling through an unexpected cloud of midges/gnats while cycling along the Serpentine this afternoon, yay!
