What's it for David? The 800 is waterproof and shockproof. If it stays on your bars then you really have no need to cover it.

It saves it from knocks and bounces. Mine spends a lot of time in panniers when I am at work or touring.

In these cases yes it is worthwhile, but if as above it stays on the bike, then probably not

i have one but I'm arsey like that. Can't abide scuffs and scrathes on things like phones, ipod and now the 800. Especially good for tucking ferry tickets in when off to the Eureka Cafe

They are robust bits of kit. I suppose for in bags etc then a case or bag might be good.

TBH I have bought a 200 for the commute. That's the one that will be on and off the bike. The 705 is for the weekends.

the person I bought it off on here very kindly included it in the sale. If you're anything like me and get a bit put out by scuffs etc then I'd get one. also bought the screen protectors off ebay for a couple of quid as well.

I have one on mine, for £7 it seemed a no brainer to give an extra layer of protection to a £300 gizmo that will be out in the wet and bound to get a knock or 2.
