I have no interest in using the internet on a phone, just need calls & texts. But i did need a smartphone to get a good payg deal from 3, which you needed 3g phone for. So i just bought a Huawei Y330 from Sainsburys for £25. Does the job ok for me and lasts 6 or 7 days on a charge with just a few calls & texts usage.

I'd definitely recommend Android over any fruit based phones.
The Motorola G series get consistently good reviews and are also affordable (well they are in the UK) to buy outright brand new.

Second recommendation for Motorola G series. See if you can buy from a company that gives a longer warranty say 2 years just incase.

If I needed to replace it tomorrow, I'd get one of these.

I bought 2x Honor 8S's (I think) £99.00 one for the wife one for myself, both do everything we want them to do, both on £10 per month contract, unlimited calls, unlimited texts, 8Gb of data & can roam in 71 countries, not that I intend to go to 71 countries, but we were supposed to go to US in October, but I can't see that happening now.
