Thanks.

It doesn't appear on there so I'm certain what you saw on Master of Malts was something different.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Rather than being reduced to drinking coke, which is after all a bit minging, how anout whisky sours? This is whisky, or more traditionally Bourbon whiskey, lemon juice, and egg white, shaken with ice, then served with a big block of ice. I've got quite fond of whisk(e)y sours but don't want to waste my good malt whisky on them.

given i now how a carpet to pay for the booze will be the 1st thing to go , along with proper cake stops which will be a 39 p flapjack from home bargains and a coffee as no matter how much i told the rest of the clan to economise it never happens

I make the occasional " Barm Brack " which is basically a Tea Loaf. The recipe calls for soaking mixed fruit in strong tea for 24 hours before adding to the rest of the ingredients. In one experiment I substituted the tea for freshly brewed strong coffee to which I added 50ml of Kahlua coffee liqueur. This came out really well. Inspired by this I decided to experiment further. I took 500g of Waitrose finest mixed vinegar fruit and again brewed a very strong coffee. This time I added 100ml of 10yo Laphroig and left to soak for 48 hours in a glass bowl with a plate on top. I thought the result was outstanding, the peaty taste was definitely there although quite subtle. Others were not so convinced, though they weren't fans of peaty malts.

I occasionally make Dalwhinnie scones, using a Dan Lepard recipe. The fruit is soaked in malt whisky, although last time I had no Dalwhinnie left so I used Bowmore instead and the result was fantastic.
