I'm thinking of building up a single speed bike for off road use.nothing to extreme just bridleways and towpaths. I've looked at the on one inbred and may get that frame and forks. i don't want suspension.
on the specs list it says 50mm chainline, can anyone recommend a decent chainset with that chainline, preferably square taper axle ?
i want disc brakes because i don't want to wear the rims out with rim brakes. is there a single speed hub with disk brake or should i just get a 9 speed wheel and a single speed conversion?
are all single speed sprockets 3/32 or can you get 1/8th ?
basic stuff but i've only ever ridden road and most of that has been on fixed!
thanks

A quick Google came up with this little lot.

Planet-x used to have a cheap 135mm disc hub. Probably sold out knowing them though.

I went for the 9speed hub option and spacers so that I didn't need to worry too much about my chainset not aligning correctly. I can just re-order the spacer on the hub to get the chainline correct.

Have a go with an Inbred before you buy. They're an acquired taste, I never really got on with mine. They're really more at home in more extreme offroad conditions doing death defying stuff than on a towpath.

Don't get me wrong, they're a nice bike. It's just I didn't like mine. IMO it had a stupidly long top tube for its size.

For towpaths and not-too-muddy bridlepaths, I think a pompino would probably be a better bike, or if you want more clearance for mud and tyres perhaps an older mountain bike.

i've thought about that but i want disc brakes. A pompino with disk brakes would be perfect.
