That chap from the Lost Prophets was a very bad sort indeed.

Came here to say that

Many years ago I took my Daughter to the BBC One Road Show - Justin Bieber was on as was Cheryl Cole

once she had seen them she wandered off with her friend and stayed and watched Lost Prophets and they were amazing

for the next Christmas my daughter got me 2 of their CDs - apparently going directly against the wishes of her Mum ( we had just broken up)

it was one of the last presents she ever got me before "things happened" and it was one of the few times she went directly against her Mum

so they were special to me and the music was wonderful

then it all came out and I just could not play them anymore

He is one of the few people I genuinely hate
the other is my daughter's old Head Teacher - she was OK as he only went for less intelligent and disadvantages little girls at HIS school!
(Neil Foden - currently in jail!)

I feel like I'm playing Mornington Crescent here, and nobody told me the rules, but here goes anyway.

Surely the winner is

Michael Jackson!

A truly amazing back-catalogue. Possibly my favourite:

I see a lad round mine wearing a Lost Prophets hoodie fairly regularly. I don't know if he's doing it ironically to get a reaction, but he'll get one, one day, and it won't be pretty.

H of Steps fame shares the same name (and nationality), and got a load of grief when everything came out about Watkins. Pretty sure he's still pursuing legal action about it.

In a similar, and more niche vein, I'm a big fan of Burzum, the solo project of all round bad dude Varg Vikernes (murder, arson, properly right wing nonsense).

I see peeps with Burzum patches sometimes, which isn't cool.

Phil Spector was rather a bad lad...

River Deep Mountain High credited to Ike & Tina Turner* even though Phil Spector produced it and paid Ike to leave him alone. Two absolute wronguns but a perfect record. TBH a lot of people have their ups and downs regarding "sin" and I'm a pretty forgiving guy but in terms of DV and SA there are very few artists whose music is good enough to transcend that aspect of their personality for me especially if they've not shown remorse. Spector and Turner maybe, can't think of any more off the top of my head. Dr Dre maybe? He's at least acknowledged previous bad behaviour. Professor Griff's antisemitism?

Blurred boundaries in some genres (Gangsta Rap I'm looking at you) between reportage, fantasy, hyperbole and reality. Can make it difficult for my white British self to judge the artists involved if they're living in a different culture with different priorities. Johnny Cash never really shot a man in Re️no 🤷‍♂️

The fact that Tina Turner managed to escape his clutches and reinvent herself as a rockstar is amazing. A true redemption story.

I don’t think Sonny Bono of Sonny and Cher fame was a very nice guy either.

But not quite as bad as ike Turner.
