Cris Kirkwood, bassist for the alternative rock band Meat Puppets, was sentenced to 21 months in prison after pleading guilty to assault with a dangerous weapon in 2004. The charge stemmed from a December 26, 2003 dispute over a parking space at a downtown Phoenix post office.
The incident began when Kirkwood exchanged words with a woman over a parking spot and followed her inside to yell obscenities. After the woman reported him to a building security guard, the situation escalated into a physical scuffle outside. During the altercation, Kirkwood took the guard's collapsible baton and hit him on the head. Fearing for his life, the security guard drew his handgun and shot Kirkwood in the back.
Kirkwood was hospitalized with serious abdominal injuries before being arrested and charged. In August 2004, he received his sentence and served time at the Federal Correctional Institution in Phoenix, where he managed to overcome his drug addiction. He was released in July 2005 and has since returned to performing and recording with the Meat Puppets.

Despite having a string of Christmas number 1s Cliff sadly had to deal with constant innuendo suggesting that he preferred the number 2 slot. Those pointing to his year long relationship with Ms Barker were reminded that she was in fact unseeded that season.
Frankly neither him being a confirmed Bachelor Boy nor preferring a Devil Woman make him an appropriate candidate for this list (unless I've misinterpreted the lyrics of Daddy's Home).

Led Zep have some sketchy anecdotes floating about, however it seems that such "interactions" with underage groupies were pretty much de rigueur back then.
I love a bit of the Smiths and Morrissey; said front man having copped some flak in recent years for his beliefs although I think at least some of this is character assassination from the hand-wringing, virtue-signalling left (I say this from a fairly leftist position). Regardless, a few "unfashionable" views pale into insignificance compared to some of the stuff on here attributed to others.
While there's a legit argument to an extent for "separating the artist from the art" when it comes to people like Ian Watkins I can't see how that can be possible for any rational individual...

Morrisey has really turned into an unbearable old man though hasn't he? His views as stated by himself are completely at odds with the man that that wrote and sung 'it takes guts to be gentle and kind'. And he can't even back it up with being a reliable self tribute act nowadays. His case is further damaged by the progressive nature of Johnny Marr and his likeability.
