I would not pass judgement until I know why she got it. Perhaps you lot could tell me.

Services to fashion and charity - Beckham's company apparently employs 150 people, although it's not clear where.

For some reason, both she and David are widely disliked, jealousy is my best guess.

David Beckham is razor sharp, forging a career partly based on appearing to be the opposite.

Victoria appears to have made a success of the fashion business, and they've had a long marriage despite intense public scrutiny.

They seem decent folks to me.

I agree with you Pale Rider. This forum does often look like it has a tad of green eyed monster going on.

So you keep saying. Some of it is tongue in cheek; but you do seem to judge success on bank balance, and that anyone who isn't stinking rich is obviously jealous. Not so in this case, but I can only speak for myself. Some of these celebs, Posh Spice included, are a royal PITA who expect us all to admire and fawn to them. I just see her as a talentless singer who got lucky by riding on the back of four other girls who could (maybe) sing a bit. All she has done since then has been to endorse stuff with her name. She's a hatchet faced pouty spoilt brat who should try smiling now and again.

The fashion business is what it is - a successful company which she founded.

Nor can I see any evidence that Victoria Beckham expects anything.

Although she must have learned to expect nasty comments from the likes of you, having had literally countless numbers of them.

Many of which will have come over the internet from spineless keyboard warriors hiding behind anonymity.

If you really dislike her that much, at least have character to send her an email under your real name to tell her.

An honour is one thing, but deification?

I'm overwhelmed.

Thank you.

Really? You think it's a good idea to be so open about feelings towards other people? You might find that there are laws against such things. There's a world of difference between telling someone to their face what you think of them, rather than airing opinions on an internet forum. If being open and honest on a forum makes me a "spineless keyboard warrior" then so be it. I'm just putting forward a counter opinion to those who seem to think the sun shines out of celebrity arses. You like her; I don't. That should be as far as it goes.

Libel laws apply everywhere.

The only difference with the internet is they are largely unenforceable.

The problem is publication, you can say almost anything you like directly to Mrs Beckham provided no one overhears it.

It used to be deemed that a sealed letter addressed to a named person could not be libellous, but the same content on a postcard could be libellous because the postman could read it.

Which is why I suggested the modern equivalent of the sealed letter - an email.

However, you are entitled to a published opinion, used to be called 'fair comment' now called 'honest opinion'.

Your remarks about Mrs Beckham probably don't cross the libel threshold, although I wouldn't risk making them, not least because libel is very much open to interpretation, which could go either way if the matter found its way to a court.

Good to see that some people understand the Internet

I'll take my chance, given that I haven't told any mis-truths. She can't sing; fact. Hatchet faced? Yes. Pouty? Definitely. Spoilt brat? Open to debate depending on what your personal view of a spoilt brat is. Should try smiling now and again? Surely few would argue with that!

It's a bit more complicated than that...
Ken Dodd and his diddy dodgy tax affairs? 50s throwback Ken Dodd? Bugger me.
