Yeah fully understand that, Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Laurel & Harding aren't funny are they? Sir Ken Dodd can go 4 hours without swearing, being abusive or racist, try to set that as a task for many of the 'alternative comedians'

Very few comedians these days are racist. And as long as it's funny, a good dose of abuse delivered towards those who deserve it (rather than, as too many of Dodd's generation did, at those who were weaker), preferably with rich and inventive swearing, is well worth a listen.

Oh, and you're right - Chaplin, Keaton and L&H aren't really funny.

I meant your ability to take 4 hours plus of boredom, I would have been out the door. Not at a Ken Dodd show maybe, but I can think of a lot of comedians that would bore me silly.
