Not convinced it'll be today, but none of it is nailed on. I do like Lancaster's lineup, with a promising pack. Shame Waldrom's going back to Leicester this weekend, I really rate him, but with Stevens or Marler joining Corbesiero either side of Hartley and Croft and Dowson on the back row, I think the new mix is exciting. I just hope they have gelled. We'll know by ten past five..........

I was thinking (only very briefly) of flying out for the Italy v England game as whenever I see the Stadio Flaminio on TV it's always really sunny and looks fantastic. Apparently they're not playing there this time but at the Stadio Olympico which isn't quite as nice

Italy made good account of themselves. France did what France do so well, score from turnover ball and awesome counter attack. I think the French forwards were either complacent or idle..... the Italian front row got the better of them a time or two, and Parisse was of course superb. Not France's most glorious game, we've seen far better from them. I said this last year, you can't underestimate the massive boost of skill that top drawer European Rugby has given to sides like Italy.
I thought there was some good handling from the Italians but overall they were below par imo.
The French newbies played well. I think it's a team that'll only get better. A good start to the tournament for them even if they didn't face any sustained pressure.
