A year of stirring, Noods! How's it feel? :giggle:

Here for rides.
Wales deserved the slam
Ireland deserved the pasting they got
France deserve a good kicking
Italy deserved two points
Not sure Scoctland deserved the wooden sppon.

So... will Lancaster get the England job permanently or will the blazzers be dazzled by celebrity and appoint someone else?

I hope so; it's been a while since the England pack's duffed up the opposition like that.

All credit to the Welsh, even if it didn't look like the French were really trying. Fantastic England performance, though - especially given the background. Lancaster must surely (not just by this game - even more so by the win against France, probably) have made himself the 'obvious/default' option - generally the most appealing, to the kind of people who make such decisions.

Wales didn't deserved the slam - bad refereeing gave them victory over Ireland

England have certainly improved over the series.

A Kiwi leads Wales to GS :bravo:
A Scot leads England to success :headshake:
An Englishman leads Scotland to failure
A Frenchman leads Italy to WS avoidance
Ireland have home-grown

What (if anything) does this say about professional rugby coaching ?

Say what you all will, most people who know about rugby will say that all three matches were fairly won today. I am English but brought up in Wales, I was proud of Wales winning the GS and think they fought hard for it; England deserved to win as they have really picked up their game after a disasterours WC campaign, and Italy for all the ribbing have worked hard this 6N and deserve one win at least. Unlucky to Scotland; a few years back Wales won the Wooden Spoon behind Italy so it doesn't mean the worst for Scotland!

Well, I'm back. I was wrong for the Italy v Scotland gane - Scotland seemed to 'do a France' and just not turn up and play to their potential.
Alain Roland did his best.
France were much improved although their impetus was stalled by daft penalties here and there, along with a tough Wales effort.
Jonathan Kaplan is not my favourite referee - he would share the same sinking boat as 'Love me' Steve Walsh.
And England's forwards really squeezed the life from Ireland's pack, commiting their back row to scrummaging in vain - a good head to head contest at times.
Nigel Owens refereed sympathetically, although he seemed to miss a few knock ons etc (Armchair ref speaketh) - and, apart from the total obliteration of the Irish pack, Morgan was once again a 'flipping nuisance' when he had the ball in his mitts.
Porridge sticks to wood very well.
My three 'predictions' were all wrong.
Roll on next year, and, inbetween times we'll know who resigns / retires / is selected / appointed and we can all go for a ride as the sun might shine.

And we're all pretty sure who'll win (or more correctly, retain) the wooden spoon!

I agree, but Craig Joubert was excellent today!
Mr Owens missed a few knock-ons and invented a couple of others.
Alain Rollands. oh dear me no.

Dan Lydiate; the new prince of wales?

Yes, thank you Greg, that's exactly what I meant; Craig Joubert was a Jonathan Kaplan clone, and he is just as sh..."aving cream" - or he was today, taking the pace off the French game, in my humble, inexperienced opinion. (applies everywhere I write )
Roland in my post need to go to 'l' - Rolland.

my head still hurts. i didn't think it was possible to get that drunk. from what i remember of the Eng v Ire match Ireland didn't bother playing rugby. the Ita v Sco match was as expected, although the referee really needs to be consistent.

Wales v France what can i say. good rugby, some bad kicking, and a captain who came back a fortnight too soon. hope Sams shoulder gets sorted, wouldn't like him to become a jony wilko.
