Well if you want to talk about cable I'll just mention the HD channels we're getting soon  :-

Sci-Fi (April)
Eurosport (April)
Discovery
ITV (early April)
E4
Film4 (god knows when)

and of course the tivo software .

Of course Sky are getting ITV too but there you go.

That`s interesting, because they offered me a V+HD box for a £49 one off payment. As the install/upgrade date is the 27th of this month I`ve got until the 22nd to phone them back if I want that instead of the standard box.
Might have to go for it.
Edited to add, what`s Tivo?

By the way what I said isn't speculation, I can source all of that. They are on the way.

My view is that the best package is XL with a v+ but it depends what you use it for. Catch-up tv is so good now that just about everything I watch is on there, people with different viewing habits wouldn't find that so might find a v+ more useful.

Erm tivo were a company that ran the most successful PVR software ever built. Unfortunately they left the UK. The VM software is based on software written in the 1990s, so it was painfully slow to use. They've been upgrading it but it's getting a major overhall sometime in the next year so it looks something like http://www.engadget.com/photos/tivo-premiere-ui-gallery/#2760471 I'm not especially keen on the look but the (previously) clunky software is an endless gripe of cable customers.
