Well I suppose no-one's ever heard of Stratford Upon Avon

You cockneys have no idea of anywhere outside of the capital...I dunno!

(Except maybe William Shakespere.)

As a local can you advise, do I need to get shots before I travel?

I don't live there, Christ no!....

Be wise to get yourself immunised against everything and drag yourself through a sheepdip on the way out just to be safe!

Sound advice.

I'll also be sure to take plenty of drinking water, can never be too careful with these exotic locations

A few of us are meeting outside the entrance to the marshall's rest area (St James's Park) at 1.30pm. Hard to miss me, given the trike. :-)

may catch some of you there - some others have posted on informal rides - have attempted to link both posts.

Will be riding with my very nervous housemate but if I spot any of you I'll come and say Hi!

I'll be there - either blue/yellow Brompton S6L or black Saracen MTB (that narrows it down a bit) - haven't made up my mind yet. With partner on purple MTB with Cadbury's Chocolate Fingers (don't ask) logos…

Wow.... Skyride.... showing cyclists at their best!!!! A collection of arrogant, self righteous people ever to exist on two wheels!!! From the very moment we headed towards central London, my daughters and I witnessed from the bus endless cyclists flouting the the law by running red lights, one-way streets the wrong way to name a few offenses. But that was only the cyclists that used the roads.... why use a road when there's a lovely pavement??? Never mind the pedestrians... it's fun whizzing through around those annoying obstacles. The abuse I got when I pointed out that there was there was a lovely road just there!!! Even when you also point out that there's a cycle path that cyclists have crying out for!!!

How fantastic it must be to achieve the status of being a cyclist.... always being in the right. What a wonderful place the world would be. Making the country a greener place by doing away with the need for any traffic lights. Playing games with pedestrians by 'trying' to dodge them. Ohhh... the Southbank Thames path, cyclists appear to be under the illusion that it's a cycle path and the pedestrians are using THEIR right of way on THEIR cycle path!!!

How can a parent put so little value on their off-spring to strap their love ones to those god awful chairs on the back of their bikes... even with crash helmets!!! Then to have gall to run red lights with these children strapped to the back of these contraptions. This cycling breed could well be a dying breed... carry on with this attitude and they will be.

Troll alert..............

You do live in London, full of arrogant twits, bikes or not.

The roads were closed, but the cyclist's should not be on pavements, nor should they be jumping light's on the way to/from the route.

Looked popular.........

Excellent behaviours on the Manchester rides. The only ones to pavement jump were kids...........

Pah, she's illiterate anyway... and not smart enough to find the green font.

Frankly if she thinks cyclists have been crying out for cycle paths she was lucky to get away with just verbal abuse and not a Zefal insertion.

Nice pics

Didn't manage to catch anyone at the bandstand (it's not easy to find people you've neve seen in a crowd), but I thoroughly enjoyed myself. And I loved those weird riding machines, especially the one with wheels all around the rider

I was there as well - and had a thoroughly splendid time. I also led a ride from Highbury Fields to the event. At one point, along Upper Street, I looked back along the ride and we stretched a looooonnnnngggg way back. There was easily a hundred of us!
