Tormaxx Curved Sliding Doors are fantastic.... used them once and will again! No outwrad or inward swinging doors to avoid and slide within their own circumference so no side space lost... a plan without fault! ....and internal lights switch on automatically on a PIR every time they open.
We thought that, but my elderly MiL found the twisting movement needed to pull the door shut or open was far more difficult than an ordinary door.

There is a whole fascinating social etiquette about revolving doors, perhaps? "Hello Darling, can I share a segment with you?" I think that a stranger sharing a segment is regarded as being a bit of an invasion of "body-space", and , as a result, the supposed energy conservation benefit gets completely lost.
Sliding doors within your house?....I shudder at the prospect. Simply no privacy, and they never work very well, do they?

A friends house, when he bought it, was half derelict and so he set about building it into the house his family at the time needed and may want in the future.
it features two sliding doors upstairs, one on the bathroom and the other on the son's bedroom, these slide into the wall saving space in the room and are very solidly built
the one on the son's room is especially good as, still being young, he likes a little bit of light coming in from a slightly open door (when I babysit it's the width of my foot) give it a few more years and the door will be closed fully on a night I suppose.
with a conventional door it would just be in the way affecting access into the wardrobe or coming alongside his head when he's in bed (cabin bed) which wouldn't be nice.
The spanish are fond of them as they save so much space, as I'm seeing in the plans and development of my father in law's tiny little cassita which is about the size of one shipping container.
