When driving have you had a confrontation with a cyclist?

I was driving home the other afternoon with the roof down when I passed a cyclist who seemed to be riding a road bike/fixed conversion when I pulled up at some lights he came along side me and held onto the area above the windscreen so i looked over to see what ne was riding and got "you got a problem mate" in an aggresive manner, my reply was no i was looking to see what you were riding but if you speak to me like that you will be the one with the problem. He looked bemused and said "ok mate" the lights changed and that was the end.

A non cyclist would have possibly used that as an excuse for a punishment pass or to enforce " The all cyclists are a problem" mindset.

A cyclist did the same when I had a convertible car - rested his hand on the top of the windscreen at a junction, presumably to save him having to unclip.

It was a while ago and I don't recall any interaction between us, but I did think it was a bit cheeky.

I no longer drive but many years ago I had a confrontation with a cyclist. We argued; I drove off believing that I was in the right and he was a right [bleep]. Looking back, my opinion on his personality hasn't changed but I do wonder if I was in fact in the wrong. I know ignorance is no defence but if I was wrong at the time, that's what it was.

I was cycling in North Wales, a long time ago and the traffic was stationery with holiday jams. I was just riding on the inside, passing all the cars. I came to a very nice sports car with the top down . The driver called out - "do you want to swap?". I smiled and declined.

I exchanged pleasantries a few times with pedestrians when I had the top down.

That limited connection to the outside world was welcome, particularly in comparison to driving a tin top when you rarely, if ever, speak to anyone outside the car.

I've never had a problem with a cyclist, but I reckon if one used my car as an arm rest at the lights I would have plenty to say about it.

(Around our way) If he's been cycling for more than thirty minutes, odds are that someone has already made an attempt on his life, or at least screamed abuse, so he's not going to be in a cheery mood.

When I'm driving I don't expect cyclists to view me as anything other than a wandering-threat-of-deadly-force, its my view of drivers too.
