Growing older but not up...

Hi,
Retired in 2009 and was presented with my old Saracen MTB by the friend that I'd sold it to 10 years ago! Done 1500 miles since then and am starting to feel properly hooked again. I've put a roof rack on the car so I can explore tracks in Wales and I'm off to Scotland with it next month.
Looking to buy a bike more suitable for 'day tours' so I will be asking questions.
