I'm thinking about buying a portable, caravan type washer that doesn't need plumbing in,for my small flat. The main requirements are that the spinning power is above 1000 rpm (wishful thinking maybe) and it doesn't cost more than a full sized plumbed in washer, like some I've looked at do. Have any of you used one and if so are they ok?

Good luck finding one, Accy. I suspect they will be expensive since there isn't the mass demand and they won't perform as well.

No experience but I think you can buy counter-top machines for exactly that purpose. If drying is a problem, how about also buying a centrifugal extractor like you sometimes find at swimming pools for wet togs?

No local launderettes?

Yes.but not convenient enough. I want a machine to do small bits of washing on a nearly daily basis. I tend to let my washing mount up then when I've washed it at the local laundry it's all over my flat. Small washes regularly rather than big washes about once a month is what i'm after.

You would be better with a full size machine if you have the room and the plumbing fittings.

The water would still have to be extracted from the air though. I think it's best to get the water out by having a decent spinning cycle,

To save your fingers a lot of walking

The Zanussi ZWC1301 is probably what you are after.
it's 50cm wide and does a 3kg wash

If you want to go even smaller (and more expensive)
Then the Euronova 355
https://www.eudora-qualitaet-ein-leben-lang.at/produkte-haushalt/waschmaschinen-3kg/euronova-355/

Or you can get an ultrasmall wall mounted one
the Daewoo DWD 35MCRCR

Or the cheap and cheerful end of the camping market is this one.
However I thinks its more designed for holiday use rather then the weekly load

You can't have used one of those swimming pool extractors! They spin so fast that stuff comes out almost dry.
