Aren't vapes also covered by this new legislation? I think most vapes contain tobacco.
Give it 10 years, smoking tobacco will be illegal, but smoking herbs will be totally legal

No, vapes don't contain tobacco and this isn't about vapes. It's just tobacco (and rolling papers!) Vapes contain nicotine, but as tobacco is a natural whole plant it contains all sorts of other nasties and they are what makes smoking so bad.

Which isn't to say that vaping isn't bad. We don't really know. But it won't be bad in the same way as tobacco as it doesn't contain the carcinogens that are in the tobacco leaf.

And there will be one problem for smokers of herbs: they won't be able to buy Rizlas!

Include vaping in the regulations.

Well this is a biggie. Inhaling propylene glycol seems problematic to me. Its available testing data is mostly as a food additive.

I'm immune vulnerable and have some breathing allergy - someone gave me a lungful of scented vape in the face last week. Been off work with inflammation and night sweats since. Just a bit too closely correlated to be unrelated.

For me, 2nd hand vape smells are normally far far worse. But it is an individual thing. I used to smoke and gave-up over 20 years ago yet am still fine with the smell of cigarette smoke. I've had to leave a public talk from early days of vaping where one individual was vaping and a very sickly sweet smell of something and I couldn't take it. I suspect I was not the only one as I said nothing but apparently immediately after the talk the society/club made a rule "No Vaping".

With vapes I guess there are so many different flavours and thus smells as who knows what is heated to steam ... and those doing the inhaling probably have little idea as to what they are inhaling or the long term health impacts.

Regulators don't seem interested or able or have resource to keep up with the potential health risks of whatever new flavour and compounds are being used today (and by the time they've investigated new compounds/recipies will be in people's lungs anyway).

What has really scared me (on behalf of others) is that my neighbour used to smoke then switched to vapes and little over a year later was suffering COPD. By the time they got to a consultant and were tested they were apparently down to ⅓ lung function and these days can't leave the house, struggle walking around and on several occasions ambulances have had to attend. And nobody can prove it was vapes or maybe the smoking before then? But these days I sometimes look at risk vs benefit.
