ah, I see. I don't personally seek to control the smoking habits of others, though I do wish my mum and sister would give up.

You would do yourself a favour if you did - persuade them, that is. Having the people around you giving up, alongside your effort ... every little helps. And of course the passive smoking! Don't imagine for a moment that I was being completely altruistic in my attitude - or patronising!
