Epsom / Ewell area was a nightmare this morning so I felt pretty damn good riding past miles of stationary traffic. But.... as I approached work I had that spongy back wheel feeling that gradually degenerated into the rumble of a flat and I had to get off.
Could hardly walk in my cleats so it had to be mended. It was freezing and the puncture was the back wheel of a wet and muddy fixed. Took it appart and put in the spare tube, pump barely working after years of not being tested, also couldn't find a hole or flint near the puncture. After all that the spare tube had a leaky value and immediately went down so I pushed the bike to work anyway and mended it at lunchtime. Fingers crossed for ride home.
