Snow!! Wimp out time for me (again) - I'm borrowing my daughter's car for todays trip to work!

Couple of centimetres and hitting it on my roadie this morn.
Only got 28mm threaded tyres on so a bit wary.

Being a chump I kept forgetting to order my new MTB cassette - should be here tomorrow.

Hope I don't chew the Tarmac....

A wake up call for me too, although we just have a sprinkling at the coast. I have been buying bits and pieces for my MTB but still need a chain and cassette. The cash will be splashed today.

A good 3 inch of virgin snow this morning  , even with Marathon winters it was a struggle in parts. Hasn't properly thawed for 4 days up here so there was a layer of ice under the snow in some places. Just took it smooth and easy and stuck to the cycle tracks where possible..... really glad I got those tyres now. Take it easy y'all

It's grim up north

Only a light covering here in central Glasgow, and not cold enough to really ice up. Greasy in parts, but mostly fine.

Bike stayed home today.

+1°C, thick fog & snow turning to slush on untreated rural back roads... No thanks - I'll be on the Turbo' tonight!

train for me, cycling back though! Should have thawed a bit by then hopefully. Main roads were fine actually, albeit very wet, sides roads though, slippy.

Well, looks like I tempted fate!

Took the main roads and all was fine to I moved back to my safer route that was not as safe.
Came to a section where I almost stop to get around a barrier and whack, hit the tarmac.

Bike fine
Me fine
Pride well and truly dented:laugh:

Bad luck on coming off.

Main roads were fine where I am so after walking the bike off my street, I cycled the rest of the way without problems. Some slush here and there but no grip problems, taking it easy on my 700x25 road bike tyres.

Just hope the slush doesn't freeze solid tonight.

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
Only bits and pieces up where I was early this morning - so couldn't be bothered getting the MTB out. I commuted in on the usual main A-road route using the 'Lethal Impact' bike , which has 25/23 mm tyres and was OK.

I had abandoned my bike in the office car park on Friday after getting a puncture within half a mile of setting off home (I was going out anyway, so just hit the pub early!) I went back into work yesterday to pick it up, fixed the puncture and the rim which was bent by the pot-hole. I then ended up getting the train today anyway as I thought the roads would be too slushy/slippery for skinny road tyres... As it turns out the side roads outside my flat were pretty bad but the main road was fine  On the plus side, the ticket office was closed, there were no guards on the train and the barriers were open at the station I get off, so just need to get a single home - still wish I'd got on the bike though!
