The issue with bare metal aluminium frames is oxidisation, which is why most of them get painted. You've either got to go for a clear coat and hope that nothing starts to corrode underneath it, or alternatively just keep polishing it every week...

Polished Ti looks great hanging from a rack in the shop. Touch it and the finger marks will make it look like Albert Steptoe's winter bike by the time you get it out the door.

Actually it's really not that bad as you are making out. It's not really that great a problem. A quick wipe and all is good in the world. Some people actually do give it a wipe with baby oil. I actually like the different colours the Ti has, marks, small scratches, imperfections etc.. gives the frame a sense of individuality.

Shall I post yet another pic of my bike?
Oh alright then.

Is this the look you are wanting @Crandoggler ?

although now the Bianchi's gone to a better place I at least have the space, if not the time to start building it up. It will be of the naked Ti / carbon fibre variety.

Looking more into this, maybe a silver powder coat might be in order. There's a place near me which does chrome(ish) powder coating. Might even get the fork done the same. Then some carbon wheels just to set it off

That is beautifully smart. I love subtle looking bikes that don't shout at you.
