How's life?

Well on the minus side, I don't currently have a job.

But on the plus side, I have some money in the bank to get by for a while, the sun is shining and I am about to go for a walk along the beach (which is good for the soul) and my solicitor has just realised she owes me 900 quid, which will be arriving in the bank any time now.

So, on balance, it's not too bad right now.

Could be better.
Could be a whole lot worse. A whole lot. Just look around and at the news.
Stuff we all bitch about every day counts for nothing compared.

Sorry to hear that. I guess it's nice to have a break, could have been in the summer, though

I was watching Parks and Recreation last night and there is a character played by Rob Lowe and he is forever in a positive mood. The character was asked why he was always in a such a good mood. The reply was that when he was a baby his parents were told he had a condition which would mean that he would only live for 2 weeks and that here he was over 5000 weeks later and that therefore every day he was alive was a good day. While this was in a comedy programme I thought that it was a smashing outlook on life and one which I would love to adhere to. Unfortunately I am currently stuck in a job which I have become bored with and am struggling to find an alternative so cant quite muster that level of optimism.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Life is a series of disasters interspersed with periods of calm, and sometimes there are times when you actually just stand still not going anywhere. Thoses are the times you have to worry about the most, because it is at those times that something will kick you in the arse, well and truly make you think that life stinks. But it's still better than the alternative isn't it.
