I didnt see him help out when St Asaph flooded or when Rhyl and Kimnel Bay flooded.

I guess it's events like this that bring communities together. Really glad that you were able to help out in a practical way. Top effort!

The local radio was saying the water levels at the coast so far were higher than their predictions, and we still haven't reached high tide yet. I hope it is less than they fear.

Have you got several empty memory cards and a fully charged battery and lots of spares for your head cam? I want to see the moment the water gets up to your chin then nose and then forehead. Don't put your bikes in your car as they likely won't be insured there and a car in a deep flood will likely just float away where ever the wind or current takes it.

The government has always been political.......

If I wuz a cynic and took any interest at all in such matters, I'd suggest that politicians and newspapers use scare stories to deflect attention from something else.

Environment Secretary Owen Paterson is to chair a meeting of the government's emergencies committee Cobra on Friday to discuss the weather situation.
He warned on Thursday that "exceptional weather" would hit the UK on Friday and over the weekend.

I just find the headline 'Huge waves batter Newquay' a bit less than sensational. I mean Newquay is supposed to have huge waves, that's what it is for..

Anyway, best of luck @Matthew_T 'oop here in York we know all about flooding. A York resident dressed for winter:
