I lost my house once , then i realised i had not lost it , it was where it always had been, i had just been blind drunk and had woke up in the shed, and at no point did i moan that it was the government's fault for not intervening by not making a cup of tea.
I'll tell you stuff for nothing, I'll tell you it for free - Shawshank Redemption, five quid, HMV. And there's little in the way of sunshine heading our way. I'm standing forward of the notice and it all looks decidedly grey.
Are you trying to tell me you decided to go somewhere and actually turned up at that place?
You cad!

Panic over!!

"The multi-agency response to the threat of floods across North Wales has now been stood down.
Chief Superintendent Jeremy Vaughan of North Wales Police who led the response said: “Thankfully the number of local incidents was low. We had however prepared for the worst, given the fact that we had three severe flood warnings across the area. On this occasion whilst it was unfortunate that some properties were flooded, the impact was less severe than anticipated, this could have been very much worse..."

He concluded his statement: "As far as I am aware only one thread was started in the internet, by a young chap who has a tendency to make a kerfuffle. Thankfully the majority of others on the forum realised he is a bit of a drama queen and ripped the p*ss out of him rather than taking his posts seriously - I am led to believe he was last seen heading towards the Chester area. The public are asked to stay away from him as he may fill their heads with nonsense."

Hope you and your family are OK. I think I know where abouts you live - the new(ish) estate on the right as you leave Prestatyn to Ffrith ?

We've got a caravan in Gronnant, but it's about 1/4 of a mile in land so should be OK - never flooded there before.

We've just had news that 10m tides are predicted for us, along with 50MPH winds!

The last big storm we had took out the sea wall, caused a large section of the coastal road to collapse into the sea and flooded shops and houses.

The Bay of Fundy. Fourteen to sixteen metre tidal range at springs. Mooring against a harbour wall must be a bit interesting.

That's of no interest to those of us eagerly awaiting @Matthew_T's report on the Prestatyn catastrophe from the inundated approach roads from Chester.

I anticipate a flood of sympathetic postings attempting to comfort him after his anticlimactic trauma.
