Picture the scene:
Traffic lights at the bottom of Ferry Road this morning - left turn arrow on green, straight ahead on red. I'm in the left-turn lane, and a taxi pulls up at the red light in the straight-ahead lane just ahead of me.
He then starts creeping through the lights before accelerating. When he's almost clear across the junction, he indicates left briefly, in the most feeble and blatant pretence of having been in the wrong lane and changing his mind at the last second. I'd almost have believed him if he'd changed direction slightly as he indicated, but he didn't as he knew full well where he was going.
The best 'trick' for running a red light I've seen yet!
