It's full on awesome, I can't describe it in any other way. After my weeks work experience they decided to pay me on the saturdays that the other saturday was away racing. They then realised I was an assett to the shop, and so have employed me permanently on Saturdays, and so I now get paid  It's a cracking wage for a fifteen year old, I get cracking discounts, and I learn so so much, like you said, not just about bikes, but how a shop works, and what has to be done to keep it working smoothly. My boss is great too; how many bosses choose to pay a 15 year old £40 a day, get hit stock at trade price, and then give a christmas present too you on top of all of that aswell

So, in summary, I love it, I learn, and I get paid (what more could you want!), and thanks to those that gave me advice about asking for work experience etc. Cheers!

Steve

That's an impressive way of describing it too - well done Steve!

Well done Steve. Sounds like you have turned up trumps. Glad to hear that it is all going well for you and that you are enjoying it. It just goes to show and you have proved it that If you work hard enough and show initiative then you get paid back in dividends ... once again well done mate!

Yo Steveo your writing's become very much more eloquent since the days of our bickering with Joe24! Nice one on the bike and the job too.

Santa (very carefully) dropped off some M-Audio Studiophile AV40 speakers, thinks it's about time I made a bit of an effort to listen to things properly considering the tone freak that I am. Nice

I got a tiny DV camera so I can follow in the pedal turns of Magnatom, Thomas & Co. and start filming my commutes, etc!

Lots of socks, fleeces and chocolates:biggrin:

Not you as well  - though I challenge you to ride faster (well he looks like he does  ) than Sharkybloke...

BTW - they're better positioned on your helmet than the bars as it gets vibration there (bars)...& the point of vision/view is better too on your barnet !

I got the usual boring stuff (socks, biscuits, books, cheese, etc).

But the teenager who lives in the house opposite my Mum's provided some absolutely priceless Crimbo entertainment. He had been given a 50cc scooter for christmas and, naturally, he was absolutely loopy about it! It seemed he just *had* to try it there and then. I am guessing that he had never been on one before because he got on, tottered around precariously, spent 5 minutes trying to figure out what all the controls did, fired 'er up ... twisted the throttle back, was thrown backwards (so he was leaning backwards and hanging on with straight arms), Mother screaming and waggling her hands ... and he rode directly into a brick wall, smashed the whole front of the bike to all buggery.

As soon as it was clear that he was uninjured ... oh how I laughed!

Cruel, I'll grant you. But funny as f*ck.

Highlights would be a bike striplight like Ianrauk's, a fantastically tasteless cycle jersey, and the 'official' LEL dvd.

-edit: just the one of each though. Seems santa also managed to nudge my broadband aerial on the way through.
