Ooh nice. I remember going to the exhibition at, I think the V&A. Amazing sweeps of colour and expression. Utamaro and Hokusai and one other whose name escapes me...I bought a folder of repros for my sister as a Christmas present!
I recollect the Design Centre was still open in the Haymarket, and there was a plethora of beautiful books - about Japanese knives - photographed in beautiful detail - and a Book about Packaging Five Eggs. This was odd as the UK was 'dozen bound' and I immediately wondered what should happen to the sixth!
Now that's a good Monday morning ramble...;)
