I will give that a 8/10

Who are you, Craig Revel Horwood?! This is not Strictly Come Dancing, son.

I'd give it a 9 for technical merit (hard to contrive that degree of closeness) but only 7 for artistic expression (not enough post-incident histrionics).

After the first incident, the second looked premeditated and vindictive.

Yep that was my take on it as well.

He obviously wasn't trying hard enough as you managed to stay upright!:bicycle:

You should report that one, sounds like there was a bump ;) at the point when he passed you so it sounds like he made contact. Did he?

I think he would deserve to lose his licence for that.

In London a lot of cabbies seem to think that by straddling the line marking the red route and the road they have some magic overtaking lane.
I just close the door on them and they have to overtake properly.

Was the bump noise him hitting you, or you hitting him? I'd be tempted to report that to somewhere as the second time he was just miss using his car.

I'm struggling to work out the first incident. I don't know if it reads on the video but in effect the taxi driver was just going to drive into a cyclist in front of him. Imagine the view from behind the drivers wheel. I can't work out any mitigating factor to counter 'I'm going to drive into the cyclist'.

The bump was the back of my hand fending away contact between handlebars and the cab. I know what tends to happen with direct contact between bars and a car...

From my previous taxi experience I would suggest you take this one straight to the police.

This is my take on this. The first incident occurred because he misjudged your speed. He wanted to get past you so he could filter up the taxi lane towards the lights. You were going faster than he was and he only realises at the last minute, and instead of slamming the brakes he starts slowing down and pulls in too close to you. He was wrong. Not the worst crime in the world, but he was in the wrong.

Obviously he got flustered/annoyed/infuriated because he couldn't get past the bl**dy cyclist. So he stewed for a while behind you. He then see's a chance to get past and as he does so, feels the need to impress on you his disgust at you, just for being there. He therefore used his taxi as a weapon to 'teach you a lesson'. This is worse than my taxi incident, which was just impatience and poor judgement. This taxi driver DELIBERATELY hit you with his taxi. You were in clear view. There is NO excuse for this. Had you gone down, and it certainly could have happened, this could have been very nasty.

Go to the police, now. This driver does not deserve to be on the road.

I will be very interested to see if anyone will defend the taxi drivers action here.

P.S. Be sure to point out the parked car just ahead when the incident occurs. It shows you have good reason not to be using the very unhelpful cycle lane.

This guy could kill someone one day with this attitude. You owe it to the potential victim to this to the police.

Why not post a copy of video to BBC Watchdog - you never know its the kind of thing they may take up:

' Are cyclists endangered by killer taxis' kind of stuff

In my dreams..........

@Benborp, there's a cop shop near there, just off the Walworth Rd (Manor Place, IIRC) if you want to report it.
