Tomorrow I´ll heading into Oslo to scourge all the good lbs and hopefully arm myself with necessary (and probably unnecessary) purchases.

Sunday I´ll be fettling with and fixing my bikes.

Dayvo, what's Olso like in winter? Is it very cold? And also, I saw a programme the other day that said at it's widest point, Norway is only eight miles wide! Is that true? They reckoned because of all the inlets and fjords.

After having had three harsh winters in Oslo (and many more in Stockholm) I actively avoid being here between November and February.

In mid-winter, the sun rises at about 9.00 and sets 4-5 hours later!

Temperatures can fall to as low as -30 (the coldest I experienced was -47 (but that was 400 km north of Oslo).

It stays cold until end of April/beginning of May, and then it´s not what I´d consider warm until early June (near to midsummer, just as it´s about to get darker again).

I´m not sure of the narrowest point, but looking at a map of Norway, it isn´t too far from the Swedish border to the Norwegian sea just north of Bodø.

I fully understand why Norwegians (and Finns, Swedes, Russians etc.) have major drink problems. It IS depressing.

But I´m here for the time being - great girlfriend and good job.

Inferno at the Electric Ballroom, Camden, tonight. Cleaning the flat tomorrow. New sofabed coming tomorrow morning, too, so we'll put it in the room, and then maybe go out to see a film. Sunday is role-playing day - going to Harrow to inject some might and magic in my life

Saturday Football training with 6 year old, Sunday first rugby training session with my nine year old. I'll probably end up like Crock and take on all the nine/ten year olds in a contact rugby session. Remember the football coach in the film Kes? That's me that is.

Saturday, I'm working for 4 hours, got 2 paper rounds to do before work though.
Sunday, ill be up early, meeting my GF on the way to the Grand Prix De Gents TT, she's giving me a lift down to the start, then she's going to watch(give me a reason to go faster;)) before going back to mine.
So Sunday should be very nice, Saturday boring.

Out on the bike tomorrow morning for 40 miles or so. Start of the rugby season tomorrow so hopefully I will catch some on TV in the afternoon.

On Sunday I will be going to support Mrs Hugo15 in the Middlesbrough 10k road race.

Tomorrow morning/early afternoon:- alternating between believing that somehow Scotland can get 6 points out of the next two games and hoping that we do not get a total gubbing

Tomorrow afternoon circa 3.25pm:- Wonder why on earth I follow Scotland as Macedonia score

Tomorrow afternoon circa 3.50pm:- Go and sit in the ladies at Hampden to avoid the half time rant from BF on how bad the team are and how he could do a better job of managing them.

Tomorrow afternoon circa 4.55pm:- Head back to bus and to the pub, asking the driver on the bus to tune to Classic FM or some other station that does not mention the football.

Tomorrow afternoon circa 7.30pm:- Drowning sorrows and getting a bit bored of all the "how bad were we" conversations, I know but can we change the subject please.

Tomorrow evening circa 8.45pm:- Long discussion on how "Flights would have just been to expensive to get to South Africa anyhow"

Tomorrow evening circa 10.00pm:- Getting involved with heated discussion about who we want in the next round, what the "easiest" countries are in each group.

Tomorrow evening circa "last orders":- Home, cheese on toast and bed.

Sunday morning:- "Oh my head"

Tomorrow we are off to the Engine Shed near Littlehampton to see what we can buy for our layouts. Sunday will be more pruning in the garden and a barbeque in the evening. Unfortunately it's return to work after and 81/2 week holiday on Monday.
