Tonight I'm doing Mrs VC a full Tapas spread:

Tomato Rubbed Bread
Chicken in Cava
Chorizo in Red Wine
Garlic Prawns
Roasted Peppers
Anchovies in Lemon & Olive Oil
Patatas Bravas
Green Salad
Lashings of Garlic Mayo

followed by:

Lemon Torte

All washed down with Spanish (style) Lager, then a nice Cava we brought back from Barca to see in the new year.

What about you?

Mrs C is currently engendering some terrific aromas from the kitchen. I've had a bit of a peek at some of the ingredients and it appears to be a very multicultural mix of:
Smoked salmon and prawn blinis with soured cream
What appears to be some sort of pork, chorizo and bean casserole (which involved a fair bit of paprika and garlic)
I may be mistaken but what appears to be a chicken biryani or blar
A mixed berry pavlova. (Mrs C is renowned throughout all of our friends and families for the quality of the meringue in her pavlova, and as I watched her making it last night I don't need to guess at what pudding will be!!!)

Cooo, could you clone yourself and pop up here?

I'm having a nice spag bol, my favourite. I need to use up some tinned tomatoes.

Tomorrow, courtesy of Cubist, I will be defrosting a portion of pheasant casserole... (Did I ever say how nice it was, BTW? I have 3 portions left, and the other bird still in the icebox....)

Tonight is a casual pizza & wine night. Tomorrow, somehow whilst painting the lounge, I have a large chicken to stuff and all the veggies to prepare to go with it, and the yorkshires etc., etc.

I am woman! I multitask!

Yes, it was, very nice. Sorry, I meant to PM you and then in the rush of Xmas, it got forgotten....

I accompanied it with mash and red cabbage sauted with red onion and apple and simmered long in more of the cider, a very good combo. I have some of that left in the freezer too!:headshake:

I visit to Sainsbury produced a selection of pizza, mini quiche, spicy beef parcel things, and other stuff I wasn't really paying attention to - main thing is I got lots of wine :headshake:

Dialed a curry, cider retrieved from the fridge, fizz on hold unlit the allotted hour.

Will be restrained in all that I do tonight apart from the incendiary activities as I plan to go out for a bike ride tomorrow morning.

Leg of lamb, roasties, parsnips & mint sauce.

Washed down with a few bottles of beer and a Californian red.

Late bottled vintage Port & cheese to finish.

Just away to get the lamb out of the oven.

Steak Diane, rump for me, fillet for MrsB with a Rioja Gran Reserva, interspersed with Speckled Hen, Riggwelter, Gentleman Jack etc.

To follow later cheese board and port, and a cheeky Bowmore to see the New Year in.

Happy New Year all...
