I think I'm a lucky man. I love my commute and look forward to it. Although never far from the fast and dangerous road between Amiens and Paris, where accidents happen almost every week, my commute is quiet. Very few cars pass me for most of the distance (20 miles) - and it's pretty too. Thanks to the magic of Google Street View I can share it with you. Does anyone else have a commute they think is pretty? Why not show us?

I start my commute with a little climb near the village of Saint Rémy en l'eau - a nice warm up. This is looking back down.

I cross the busy Amiens/Paris road then make my way to the village of Cuignères. There follows a three kilometre descent, with countryside typical of how we imagine northern France. It isn't devoid of charms - I often go through here at night, and encounters with foxes and owls are common.

My favourite part is here. I feel calm and relaxed cycling on this road - especially when I go home when it's downhill!

Once past Breuil le Vert, I pass through some pleasant woods

Then I cycle though the un-interesting town of Liancourt, then through more woods to Monchy Saint Eloi - the little village where my work is.

One thing I can be sure - not many of you work in a place like this!

Really lovely commute you have! Bet wind can be a problem sometimes, though.

all the time! it normally blows up from the south west so i get a crosswind which ever way i go!!! i also try and vary my route to keep it interesting, yesterday was a "lets go this wa as i have 2 hours before work" type commute!

Some amazing commutes! Keep 'em coming!

Jimmy Doug, your office is stunning!

He! He! It is, isn't it? You can see it from the main road - people are really envious when they learn where we work (my wife works in the same place - but she takes the train!). The park is wonderful, and everyone walks in it at lunchtime. There's even a book written about the castle, written by one of the employees. My office isn't in the "château", though - it's in a much less interesting building not in view (it's actuallly a tranpsort school, and my office is an ex-bedroom in the student dormitories - shame they tore the shower out!) . But I have a lovely view from my window looking into the park.
