If you know what's good for you ...
I used to live near the Alps. On good days we could see Mont Blanc from just up the road from our house. Now my best views are the ones I've posted here. Ah well never mind. As you say, compared to some people here my commute is utter luxury.

I love Glasgow! I really like the view of it you have on your way to work in the morning - and you get a view of mountains! Oh, lucky you!
I would swap you in a heartbeat mate. Would love to live in the French countryside (would prefer Italian or German, but France trumps South Lanarkshire)

I have the pleasure of a part time job that has me all over the country, fitting in nicely with long bike rides. So I consider these to be commuting shots

This part of France is nothing special, I can assure you! Quite flat, no hedges, few trees ... and massive fields stretching into the horizon. But you're right - most of France is beautiful. But for me, the best thing about France from a cylcling perspective is that the drivers are very respectful to us. Aggressive behaviour such as we talk about on this forum is rare here.

@Hawk. Love those pics of your commute. How often do you go past these scenes?

I love my commute, 8 miles through London over half of it along the river path… and sometimes even through the river

I live in the North-west of Glasgow so whenever I need to go north or east I can generally manage to take a route like that incorporates those views, one is from the Tak Me Doon road, a notorious climb (always fun "commuting" it with heavy panniers :surrender:) and the other is from a nearby area, it's the Carron Valley Reservoir. There's no shortage of nice views like this in the area tbh, beautifully hidden away.

Usually get something at least this spectacular 1-2 times a week
