Alcoholism is nothing to do with the amount that you drink - it's about your relationship with alcohol.

I don't have a great relationship with alcohol and I know it's something I need to address for the good of my long term health. And to set a better example to my son, who is now of legal drinking age. I'm not sure about going sober for the whole of October but if I can at least be more moderate, that would be a good start.

I had one beer on Saturday the 1st but haven't touched a drop since then, which is unusual for me. Let's see how long I can keep it up...

So that's the first week done and dusted; now just the second weekend to contend with.

How's everyone doing?

I haven't had anything alcoholic since June. People think its weird that I can go so long without booze but it's just not really part of my life. I enjoy it lots when I'm on holiday (as I was in June) but other than that I'm not really fussed.
when you say staying sober, do you mean total abstinence or do you mean stopping before you start playing pinball off the walls?
I didn't have a drop for about 10 weeks over the summer, but even since then and enjoying a few pints once or twice a week I doubt I have strayed from being sober.
I think most of us (*cough* @summerdays *cough*) are going for total abstinence. From chocolate and bread, in my case as I rarely drink. It's working: I've not weighed myself for a few weeks but I did yesterday and I have lost 5lbs.
