Couldn't get out today, shopping and chores day. Coventry was fine and sunny this morning , but cloudy then wet this afternoon. I am hoping to get out on the club run tomorrow, but the forecast isn't brilliant, early morning rain clearing later, just depends how quickly it clears.

I've succeeded in getting a drenching both coming and going from work every night this week. It seems as soon as my overshoes, bibs etc are dry, they are getting wet again.

I think it's time the boffin's got round to G.M.ing us gills! It's getting ridiculous that this amount of water can fall in such a short space of time. And I've broken the zip on one of my overshoes too!!!!

>>>So he said "Mummy, stop rain!". She was touched, but had to admit to not having quite that level of power... <<<<

You mean that there really is something a woman cannot do!

Oh well, I'm in for another slapping. I'll blame it on my homebrew stout, plus I'm on a high as I have now got Nunburnholme hill down to 7 minutes 40 seconds from the bottom to the crossroads. Bring on the "Big G" next July.

Today I had nothing but praise for the rain, every time I have been out this past fortnight I have come home covered in mud from what farmers leave on the roads, but after last nights heavy rain, the roads were as clean as a whistle, so the bike was washed off in next to no time.

Left for a ride at 7.30am this morning. A bit of rain.. gawd I thought, here we go this is going to last all day. By 9am the rain and cloud had cleared to leave a beautiful sunny day (pics here). Once it got dark it started to rain again, but not heavy.
Tomorrow though is not looking good.

Lovely oast Ian, complete with dogs! I was going to skim across London with an early start to pop in to this ride but left a bit too late. Saw the sun and was kicking myself all morning.
Today, I got up at 03:55. The rain is still thrashing down at 06:30 so I'm going to change out of my gear and make it stop!
At least it is not cold, and I wouldn't mind, but a week's wet commuting sort of blunts the resolve a bit...;)

It's 7.45 on Sunday and I'm leading an MTB club ride over the moors to Howarth this morning, so I've no chance of copping out. It's raining; hope it stops as forecast.

I had a nice trip up to Oldham town centre...(apart from the kid's playing up)..............

Didn't see you

Was up town for the first time in ages doing the Christmas shopping, chuffed because I got it all and got some good presents too.

Tommyfield is a very good market, I wasn't so keen on the seasonal stalls but it's good they've done something.

And to bring it back to the OP, I had to take shelter from the rain in a public house on the way back. For a good few hours ;)

Ugh, it's raining hard here and I'm supposed to be going out for a ride with the CTC:sad:. Would it be bad to wimp out and just join them for lunch?

Yay, just had an offer of meeting them part way into the ride so I've got a bit longer to see if this sodding rain clears up!
